Obverse description Central device features the prancing Hanoverian horse leaping to the left over a grassy mound, rendered with fine detail in the mane and tail. The horse serves as the heraldic symbol of the Kingdom of Hannover. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the design, reading GEORGIUS IV D G BRITANN ET HANNOV REX, with the mint and fineness marks XX E F MARK appearing in the lower field beneath the horse. The overall composition is bold and well-centred within a plain raised rim.
