Beschrijving voorzijde This commemorative sheet comprises three conjoined notes (1, 5, and 10 Baht denominations), each bearing a portrait of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) at left, accompanied by the Royal Garuda Emblem and the Airapote elephant vignette. Historical royal scenes form the central vignettes: the 1 Baht note presents Their Majesties granting audience at the Sutthaisawan Prasat Hall during the 1950 coronation; the 5 Baht note illustrates a royal procession by land marking His Majesty's 3rd Cycle Birthday Anniversary in 1963; and the 10 Baht note portrays His Majesty at the Ananda Samakhom Throne Hall on the 60th Anniversary of His Accession to the Throne in 2006.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse of each note in this commemorative sheet presents biographical vignettes chronicling the life of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The 1 Baht reverse bears portraits of His Majesty's childhood, the return of Kings Rama VIII and Rama IX to Thailand in 1945, His Majesty's studies in Switzerland, the Villa Vadhana, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the Grand Palace, and the Royal Emblem commemorating the 80th Birthday Anniversary of 5th December 2007. The 5 Baht reverse illustrates the royal wedding, coronation, ordination, the Royal Family, Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, royal activities, a Royal Rainmaking Project aircraft, and His Majesty playing the saxophone and painting; the 10 Baht reverse includes the Investiture of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, royal activities with H.R.H. the Princess Mother, the Pak Phanang River Basin Development Project, the Chaipattana Aerator, and a tribute audience at the 60th Accession Anniversary celebrations.

Opmerkingen

The 16 baht denomination exists for one reason only: Rama IX — Bhumibol Adulyadej — was born on the 5th of December 1927, and 80 in Thai numerology carries specific ceremonial weight tied to the five-tier ranking of royal birthday celebrations. Sixteen is not a monetary denomination in any functional sense; it was never intended for commerce. The figure derives from the Thai ceremonial tradition of multiplying the auspicious number associated with the occasion.

Printed at the Bank of Thailand's own facility in Bangkok, which has produced the kingdom's notes since 1969, this is a commemorative issue in the strictest sense — released for collection, not circulation. The unusual dimensions reflect its presentation format rather than any standard series.
