Obverse description Prow of galley to right, depicted in three-quarter view with ram at bow and oar port visible; the prow is rendered in bold relief characteristic of Akarnanian bronze coinage. Greek legend ΛΕΥΚΑ / ΔΙΩΝ / ΑΡΤΕΜΑΣ arranged in three lines around the central device, identifying the magistrate Artemas of Leukas. The lettering is incuse and spread across the upper and lower fields flanking the prow.
