Reverse description A tripod cauldron depicted facing, with three legs splayed outward and a bowl supported above, rendered in a simplified but recognizable manner characteristic of provincial Macedonian bronze coinage. The ethnic legend ΠΕΛΛΗΣ (genitive of Pella) is divided on either side of the tripod, identifying the issuing civic authority. The overall design is typical of Hellenistic civic bronze issues from the Roman provincial period of Macedonia.
