| Aanvullende informatie |
Gargara was a minor Aeolian city on the southern slopes of Mount Ida in the Troad, founded as a Macedonian colony and perpetually overshadowed by its neighbors. The city's coinage is sparse enough that individual dies can often be traced across the surviving corpus — a handful of institutions hold the majority of known examples.
