| Obverse description | The central device depicts the coat of arms of Tanzania, featuring a shield supported by two human figures — a man to the left and a woman to the right — each standing amid floral sprigs. The shield bears a torch, diagonal stripes, crossed axes and a hoe, and wavy lines in the base. A scroll inscribed UHURU NA UMOJA (Freedom and Unity) runs beneath the supporters. The legend TANZANIA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 1500 SHILLINGS is inscribed along the lower field. |

| Reverse description | A highly detailed, full-color photorealistic portrait of a roaring American Grizzly Bear (Ursus arctos horribilis) fills the entire coin field, depicted in extreme close-up with its mouth open wide, revealing prominent canine teeth and the interior of the mouth rendered in vivid polychrome color. The bear's dense fur is depicted in rich brown and golden tones with exceptional textural detail. A small silhouetted vignette of a mountainous wilderness landscape with a bear appears at the top of the field, accompanied by the date 2020 inscribed immediately below it. Faint inscriptions appear along the lower left and lower right periphery of the colored field. |

| Additional information |
Tanzania has issued a long-running series of wildlife bullion rounds under foreign licensing arrangements, with the Grizzly Bear issue falling under the broader "Big Five" and American wildlife marketing umbrella aimed squarely at the North American collector market. The Tanzanian shilling denomination is nominal — these coins are priced and traded entirely on silver spot plus a modest premium, and virtually none enter Tanzanian commerce.
The two-troy-ounce format was adopted to distinguish this series from the saturated one-ounce market.
