| Obverse description | Central field displays the Somali national coat of arms: a shield bearing a five-pointed star, supported by two leopards rampant, with a decorative base below. A bilingual legend in Latin and Arabic encircles the upper portion of the coin reading 'JAMHUURIYADDA DIMOQRAADIGA SOOMAALIYA' and its Arabic equivalent.
