| Obverse description | Three-quarter facing draped and armored bust of Simón Bolívar, El Libertador, in military uniform adorned with epaulettes and a laurel-branch decoration at the collar, rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field. The legend REPUBLICA DE COLOMBIA curves along the upper periphery, while the inscription LIBERTADOR SIMON BOLIVAR appears in smaller characters along the lower rim, flanked by small five-pointed stars.
