| Beschrijving voorzijde | The Paraguayan national arms occupy the central field, depicting a five-pointed star set against radiating sunbeams and enclosed within a wreath of palm on the left and olive on the right, tied at the base. The circular legend REPUBLICA DEL PARAGUAY runs along the upper periphery, while the date 1975, split as 19 and 75 to either side of the arms, appears in the lower field. The denomination 1500 GUARANIES is inscribed in large characters below the arms, with the entire design bordered by a fine beaded inner rim. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Humaitá was the fortified river position where Paraguayan forces held off a combined Brazilian, Argentine, and Uruguayan naval assault for nearly three years during the War of the Triple Alliance — a conflict that killed an estimated 60 to 70 percent of Paraguay's male population by its end in 1870. The ruins of the church there became a national symbol of resistance precisely because so little else survived to memorialize it.
This issue belongs to a broader 1975 commemorative gold series produced under Stroessner's government, largely targeting the international collector market rather than domestic circulation.
