| 背面描述 | A large, finely detailed bust of Marshal Francisco Solano López faces the viewer in a three-quarter portrait pose, rendered in high relief with careful attention to his beard and military collar. The legend MARISCAL FRANCISCO SOLANO LOPEZ arcs along the upper and lateral periphery in bold raised letters, with a small dot serving as a stop at the lower right. The portrait fills the majority of the field, conveying a commanding and historically evocative likeness of the Paraguayan national hero. The design is framed by a beaded rim consistent with the obverse. |

Francisco Solano López led Paraguay into the War of the Triple Alliance (1864–1870) against the combined forces of Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay — a conflict that killed an estimated 60–70% of Paraguay's total population and over 90% of its adult male population. That López was later rehabilitated as a national hero, rather than condemned as the author of national catastrophe, reflects a deliberate political project. This 1973 issue falls squarely within the Stroessner dictatorship's active promotion of the López cult as a vehicle for Paraguayan nationalism.
