| Reverse description | A frontal view of the Christ the Redeemer statue (Cristo Redentor) of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is depicted in high relief at the center of the field, the robed figure shown with arms outstretched horizontally atop its stepped pedestal. Several stylized clouds are distributed symmetrically across the field to either side of the statue, with small star ornaments flanking the design at the mid-field. The legend LA STATUE DU CHRIST curves along the upper periphery, while MERVEILLES DU MONDE MODERNE arcs along the lower border. The date 2007 appears in the lower right field. |

| Additional information |
The Ivory Coast issued a wave of small-format gold pieces in the mid-2000s under licensing arrangements that had little to do with domestic monetary policy — these were frankly collector items produced for the international numismatic market, with nominal face values bearing no relation to bullion content or local purchasing power. The Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, completed in 1931, has no particular connection to Francophone West Africa.
