正面描述 Central field displays the national coat of arms of Côte d'Ivoire, featuring the elephant head emblem within a shield flanked by decorative supporters. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE DE COTE D'IVOIRE arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin lettering. The denomination 1500 FRANCS CFA appears in the lower field beneath the coat of arms. The design is executed in a clean, medallic style against a polished background.

背面描述 Central design depicts a detailed and dramatically rendered artistic reconstruction of the ancient Pharos of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, shown as a towering multi-tiered lighthouse with gilded highlights applied to the structure to create a striking contrast against the silver field. The lighthouse is rendered in high relief with fine architectural detail, evoking the monument's legendary grandeur. The upper arc bears the legend MERVEILLES DU MONDE DE L'ANTIQUITE separated by star ornaments, while the lower arc carries the inscription PHARE DE ALEXANDRIE, also separated by star ornaments. The date 2010 appears in the field to the right of the lighthouse.

附加信息

The Pharos of Alexandria collapsed in stages following earthquakes in 956, 1303, and 1323 AD — by the 14th century little remained above the waterline, and the Mamluk sultan Qaitbay eventually built a fort directly on the foundations in 1480. The Ivory Coast issued this piece under a licensing arrangement common among West African CFA member states, where the mint authority produces collector bullion on behalf of the issuing nation with no expectation of domestic circulation.

The .999 silver field with selective gilding was a commercially fashionable combination in the collector market around 2008–2012, driving a wave of similar issues from Cameroon, Congo, and Djibouti through the same distribution channels.
