Beschrijving voorzijde Central field features the national coat of arms of Côte d'Ivoire, depicting an elephant head above a divided shield with a rising sun and a palm tree, flanked by laurel branches. The circular legend at the top reads REPUBLIQUE DE COTE D'IVOIRE, with the denomination 1500 FRANCS CFA inscribed along the lower portion of the border. The design is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field typical of proof coinage.

Aanvullende informatie

The HMS Victory entry into numismatics is a recurring fixture of the African legal tender novelty market — small-denomination gold issues struck in minuscule weights and licensed to Pacific and West African states whose connection to the subject is purely contractual. Ivory Coast has issued dozens of these pieces through European minting intermediaries, primarily targeting European collector-investors rather than any domestic circulation.

Victory herself was already 40 years old at Trafalgar in 1805, a first-rate of 104 guns that survived the battle her admiral did not.
