The left image shows the obverse of the 1 DM coin with the denomination '1 DEUTSCHE MARK' and the date '1950', while the right image depicts the reverse featuring the Federal Eagle. The curved legend 'Anniversaire 65ième' arcs along the upper periphery, with the year '2013' and the inscription 'Deutsche Mark' appearing along the lower margin, separated by decorative foliate ornaments.

The German Mark had ceased to be legal tender on January 1, 2002, making this an eleven-year retrospective issued by a country that never used it. Togo's mint authority contracted production through the European Mint in Denmark for much of this series.
