| Aanvullende informatie |
This piece belongs to a category of Franco-African commemorative gold that flourished in the 2000s and 2010s, where CFA-zone nations — whose franc remains pegged to the euro under French Treasury guarantee — issued collector coins denominated in their own currency but celebrating foreign monetary systems. The German Mark had ceased to be legal tender on January 1, 2002, making this an eleven-year retrospective issued by a country that never used it.
Togo's mint authority contracted production through the European Mint in Denmark for much of this series.
