| Reverse description | A highly detailed relief depiction of the historic German steam locomotive Adler is shown in right-facing profile, occupying the majority of the field. The Adler, which inaugurated Germany's first public railway between Nuremberg and Fürth in 1835, is rendered with precise mechanical detail including its chimney stack, boiler, driving wheels, and connecting rods. The curved legend NURNBERG-FÜRTH ADLER 1835 runs along the upper periphery, while the minting year 2006 appears in the exergue. A beaded border frames the entire design. |

| Additional information |
The denomination is fictional — no "1500 Francs CFA" coin exists within the West African CFA franc system, which uses the BCEAO and has never issued a denomination of that value. The "Adler 1835" framing references the famous Thurn und Taxis postal eagle issue, a favorite subject for the modern commemorative gold market. Togo has periodically licensed its name to private minting operations producing small-format gold pieces with no genuine circulation mandate, sold directly into the collector market rather than through any central bank channel.
