Reverse description A highly detailed relief depiction of the historic German steam locomotive Adler is shown in right-facing profile, occupying the majority of the field. The Adler, which inaugurated Germany's first public railway between Nuremberg and Fürth in 1835, is rendered with precise mechanical detail including its chimney stack, boiler, driving wheels, and connecting rods. The curved legend NURNBERG-FÜRTH ADLER 1835 runs along the upper periphery, while the minting year 2006 appears in the exergue. A beaded border frames the entire design.
