A detailed architectural rendering of the King Faisal Mosque of Sharjah (also known as the Sharjah Mosque) occupies the upper portion of the field, depicted in fine engraved lines showing its central dome, flanking minarets, and colonnaded courtyard facade. The lower field bears the Arabic legend 'مسجد الشارقة' (Sharjah Mosque) rendered in elegant calligraphic script, with the dual date '١٤٤٠ - ٢٠١٩' (AH 1440 / AD 2019) inscribed below in Arabic-Indic numerals. The design is set within a raised beaded border on a polished proof field. |

The entire field is dominated by a Quranic verse from Surah At-Tawbah (9:18) rendered in bold Al-Thuluth calligraphy, filling the coin's surface in a dynamic diagonal composition. The Arabic text, executed with great artistic fluency, reads: 'إنما يعمر مساجد الله من آمن بالله واليوم الآخر' ('The mosques of Allah are only to be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day'). The Hijri year '١٤٤٠' appears in small numerals near the lower exergue. The calligraphic design is set against a mirror-polished proof field within a raised border. |

The Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Mosque — known locally as the Sharjah Mosque — is one of the largest mosques in the UAE, with a capacity exceeding 25,000 worshippers. This 2019 issue is part of the UAE's ongoing bullion and commemorative program administered through the Central Bank, which has increasingly used high-specification gold strikes at .9999 fineness to target collector and investment markets simultaneously. The 60g format places it outside standard bullion fractions, a deliberate choice that pushes the piece firmly into commemorative territory.
