| Beschrijving keerzijde | Fan-shaped reverse depicting a Shiba Inu-type dog in full profile standing and facing left in the central field, rendered in fine relief against a plain polished background. A larger, softly detailed dog's head appears in low relief to the upper left as a secondary design element. The denomination 150元 is inscribed in the upper right field. The cyclical year designation 戊戌 appears in two characters at lower left, referencing the Year of the Dog in the traditional Chinese sexagenary calendar. |

China's Lunar Gold series has been issued annually since 1981, making it one of the longest-running bullion programs of its kind. The 2018 Dog issue falls in the twelfth and final position of the current sixty-year cycle's inner twelve-year rotation, a calendrical coincidence that drew heightened collector interest in the Chinese domestic market that year.
The "Arc" designation distinguishes this piece from the fan-shaped ("sector") variant issued concurrently — both produced at the Shanghai Mint.
