Obverse description The State Coat of Arms of the Soviet Union occupies the upper field, depicting a globe with hammer and sickle surmounted by a five-pointed star, flanked by wheat sheaves bound with ribbons. Below the arms, the Cyrillic legend СССР (USSR) is inscribed across the centre, separated from the lower field by a horizontal line. The denomination 150 in large numerals and РУБЛЕЙ appear prominently in the lower field, with the date 1990 at the bottom. To the lower left, the fineness and weight indicators Pt 999 and 15,55 are inscribed, while the Leningrad Mint monogram (ЛМД) appears at the lower right.
