| Beschrijving keerzijde | A detailed architectural view of the Friendship Bridge (Puente de la Amistad) spanning the Paraná River between Paraguay and Brazil fills the central field, rendered in fine relief with the bridge's characteristic arched span and vertical support structure visible above turbulent river waters and rocky banks. The legend FRIENDSHIP BRIDGE curves along the upper periphery in large capital letters, following the beaded inner border. The mirrored proof fields provide strong contrast against the deeply struck design elements. The composition conveys the monumental scale and modern engineering of the landmark structure. |

The Friendship Bridge — Puente de la Amistad — connecting Ciudad del Este to Foz do Iguaçu was completed in 1965, built jointly by Paraguay and Brazil as part of a broader bilateral relationship that would culminate in the 1973 Itaipú Treaty. This coin predates the dam's completion by a decade, issued when the bridge itself was still the most visible symbol of that alliance.
Paraguay struck several .999 fine silver commemoratives through the mid-1970s primarily for the collector export market rather than domestic circulation.
