Additional information

Issued to commemorate the Chapultepec Peace Accords signed in January 1992, which ended El Salvador's twelve-year civil war — a conflict that killed an estimated 75,000 people and displaced roughly a quarter of the country's population. The accords, brokered by the United Nations in Mexico City, were the first instance of the UN successfully mediating the end of an internal armed conflict.

The 150 colones denomination was purely commemorative; no such value circulated in everyday commerce.
