| 表面の説明 | The obverse carries a central vignette of a historical Granby street scene rendered in a sepia-toned engraving style, set against a warm yellow and gold guilloche underprint with colourful stylized leaf motifs scattered across the border areas. The denomination "150¢" appears in large numerals at left, flanked by vertical BANQUE DU SOUVENIR legends, while the GRANBY 150 anniversary logo is placed at lower centre. The Ville de Granby municipal signature in script occupies the lower right, accompanied by the motto D'HIER À DEMAIN. |

Granby, Quebec issued this 150-cent denomination note in 2009 to mark the city's sesquicentennial — the face value itself being the commemorative device rather than any practical monetary unit. Municipal scrip of this kind occupies an odd legal space in Canada; it functions as a gift certificate or local currency redeemable within the issuing municipality rather than as a Bank of Canada instrument, and issuers have periodically run into regulatory friction over the practice.
The 150-cent denomination has no precedent in Canadian federal coinage or notes, which was entirely the point.
