| Reverse description | Christ in Majesty depicted full-length within a pointed mandorla (vesica piscis), nimbed and robed, raising His right hand in benediction while holding the Gospels in His left hand. Thirteen stars are arranged symmetrically around the mandorla in the field. The surrounding legend ·SIT·T·XPE·DAT·Q·TV· ·REGIS·ISTE·DVCAT· ('May this duchy be given to you, O Christ, whom you rule') runs along the beaded border, continuing the traditional Venetian ducal reverse formula established for multiple-zecchino issues. |
