China's Panda gold series launched in 1982, making 2007 its 25th anniversary year. The series is notable for changing its reverse design annually — a deliberate policy that transformed these coins into collectibles from the outset, distinguishing them sharply from the fixed-design bullion coins issued by most other mints at the time.
KM#1783 is among the smallest fractional issues in the anniversary release.
