| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the Portuguese Royal Arms, rendered in a stylised hammered manner characteristic of the Diu mint. The shield displays the quintas (five escutcheons) arranged in a cross pattern with roundels, surrounded by a decorative circular border of interlaced geometric motifs. Radiating lines extend outward from the central device toward the rim, giving the composition a wheel-like appearance. The overall execution is typical of the crude local coinage produced at the Diu mint under João VI, with an irregular flan and flat, worn high-relief areas. |

| Obverse lettering | 15 Reis |
| Reverse description | The denomination numeral '15' appears prominently in the upper field, rendered in large raised characters. Immediately below, the word 'REIS' is inscribed in bold Latin letters occupying the lower portion of the flan. The legend is simply presented without any border or ornamental devices, consistent with the utilitarian hammered coinage of the Diu mint. The flan is irregular and shows characteristic surface porosity and edge nicks inherent to the primitive minting technique employed at this facility. |
