| Obverse description | Draped bust of Empress Maria Theresa facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed and adorned with a diadem, wearing a lace-trimmed décolleté gown with a brooch visible at the neckline. The effigy is rendered in high relief in a refined Baroque style. The circular Latin legend is divided around the bust, reading M THERESIA D G R to the left and IMP GE HU BO REG to the right. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |

| Additional information |
Maria Theresia inherited a treasury gutted by her father's wars and immediately faced the War of Austrian Succession, which began the year she took the throne. Funding that conflict required aggressive silver coinage across multiple mints, and the Hall facility in Tyrol — one of the oldest continuously operating mints in the Habsburg lands — carried a substantial share of the burden throughout the 1740s.
Herinek documents four distinct varieties across this issue's run, distinguishing primarily by die differences in the bust and lettering.
