| Obverse description | Draped bust of Empress Maria Theresa facing right, her hair elaborately dressed with curls and adorned with a pearl drop earring, the effigy rendered in high relief with fine detail in the lace and drapery of her bodice. The truncation of the bust breaks through both the upper and lower portions of the surrounding legend, a characteristic feature of this type. The circular Latin legend is arranged around the portrait within a beaded inner border, with the milled coin edge visible beyond. |
