| 表面の説明 | Laureate and draped bust of Holy Roman Emperor Leopold I facing right, occupying the upper portion of the field. Below the portrait, the numeral value XV appears within a rectangular cartouche frame, flanked by and interrupting the surrounding legend. The Latin legend, commencing at 12 o'clock, reads as an abbreviation for Leopoldus Dei Gratia Romanorum Imperator Semper Augustus ac Germaniae Hungariae Bohemiaeque Rex. The portrait reflects the elaborate Baroque engraving style characteristic of late 17th-century Habsburg coinage. |

Leopold I's 15 Kreuzer issues of the 1690s were struck across multiple Habsburg mints simultaneously — Graz among them — largely to fund the ongoing campaigns against the Ottomans following the siege of Vienna. The Graz mint, operating under Styrian administration, often produced subtly distinct die work from Vienna or Hall, and Herinek's breakdown across four catalog numbers (953–956) reflects documented die variations within this short run rather than separate issuing episodes.
The 15 Kreuzer denomination itself had a troubled history in the Empire, repeatedly debased and revalued through the seventeenth century. By the 1690s it occupied an awkward position in daily commerce, worth enough to matter but too often clipped or sweated by the time it changed hands.
