正面描述 Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Leopold I facing right, wearing a large curled periwig and armored shoulder, the effigy rendered in high relief in the Baroque manner. The denomination numeral XV appears within a cartouche at the lower portion of the inner circle, below the bust. A beaded inner circle separates the central effigy from the surrounding Latin legend. The obverse legend reads LEOPOLDVS D:G R.I.S.A.G.H.B.REX, abbreviating his full imperial and royal titulature.

附加信息

Brieg's mint operated under Habsburg authority during a period when Silesian coinage was caught between competing imperial fiscal demands and the persistent debasement pressures following the Thirty Years' War. The 15 Kreuzer denomination itself had a troubled history in Habsburg lands — the type had been a vehicle for currency manipulation since the Kipper- und Wipperzeit of the 1620s, and its reappearance in the 1690s reflected ongoing silver shortages rather than monetary confidence. Leopold I authorized numerous regional mints across Silesia precisely because centralized striking could not meet demand.

Brieg was ceded fully to Prussia in 1742 under the Treaty of Breslau, ending its Habsburg minting history entirely.
