| Additional information |
Montfort-Peggau was a minor Swabian comital line whose coinage output was sporadic and closely tied to the financial pressures of rebuilding after the Thirty Years' War. John VIII ruled a territory so fragmented by inheritance divisions that his mint rights were themselves contested — the 1678 issues appear in limited numbers across surviving collections, suggesting a short or restricted striking. KM#54 is catalogued without a confirmed mintage figure.
