Obverse description Armored bust of Count John VIII of Montfort facing right, wearing a cuirass and an elaborately curled long wig typical of the late 17th-century Baroque style. A coat of arms or decorative element is visible at the base of the bust. The circumferential Latin legend reads IOANNES·COMES·DE·MONTFORT, distributed around the periphery of the flan.
