Obverse description The traditional Irish harp, modelled on the Brian Boru harp, is depicted at centre in high relief against a plain mirror field, its intricate carved forepillar and soundboard rendered in fine detail. The legend ÉIRE is inscribed vertically along the left inner border, with the date 2015 arranged vertically along the right inner border, both in large upright characters. The composition is spare and heraldic, emphasising the harp as Ireland's national symbol without additional ornamentation.
