CGB Numismatique Paris issued this note as part of a regional fantasy series in 2008, during a brief period when French numismatic dealers and local governments experimented with unofficial euro-denominated collector notes — none of which held any legal tender status. The Bretagne piece is one of several in the run, each tied to a distinct French region.
The hologram is the one concession to serious production values. Otherwise these circulated only between collectors and at coin fairs.
