| Beschrijving voorzijde | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, pearl drop earrings, and a pearl necklace, after the sixth definitive portrait modelled by Jody Clark. The engraver's initials 'JC' appear below the truncation. The circumferential legend reads 'ELIZABETH II 1952-2022' above and 'AUSTRALIA' to the right, separated by raised dots. The lower arc of the legend panel bears the inscriptions '1/10oz 9999 Au' and '15 DOLLARS', denoting the coin's gold content, fineness, and face value. |

Australia's lunar series has run continuously since 1996, making 2024's Dragon the third time Perth Mint has cycled through the full zodiac on this denomination. The .9999 fineness — finer than the traditional .9167 used in sovereign-era Australian gold — became Perth's house standard in the 1980s as a direct commercial response to the Canadian Maple Leaf's challenge to Krugerrand dominance in the bullion market.
Elizabeth II's sixth and final portrait, by Etienne Rogier, was approved shortly before her death in September 2022 and appears posthumously on issues through this year.
