Canada's lunar series, produced in collaboration with the Royal Canadian Mint's ongoing effort to capture Asian-Canadian collector markets, follows the twelve-year Chinese zodiac cycle. The Tiger year fell in 2010, spanning February 14th of that year through February 2nd, 2011. These issues are struck in .9999 fine silver — a purity standard the RCM adopted aggressively in the late 1990s to differentiate its collector output from the more common .999 fine used by most competitors.
