Reverse description Central cameo featuring a boldly rendered tiger in 24-karat gold plating, depicting the beast in a naturalistic pose symbolic of the Chinese Year of the Tiger. The central motif is framed by a decorative border incorporating all twelve animals of the Chinese lunar zodiac in sequence, rendered in fine relief. The composition is designed by Stan Witten and reflects the iconographic conventions of the Royal Canadian Mint's ongoing Lunar New Year commemorative series. The initials HC appear in the lower field.
