Obverse description The obverse bears the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Dora de Pédery-Hunt, depicting the monarch in right-facing profile as rendered at approximately 64 years of age. The Queen is shown diademed, wearing the George IV State Diadem, a necklace, and drop earrings, in a style characteristic of the sculptor's mature portraiture. The legend encircling the effigy reads ELIZABETH II, with the denomination 15 DOLLARS and the issuing authority CANADA accompanied by the date 2002 completing the surrounding inscription.
