Additional information

The 2007 Year of the Pig completed Perth Mint's first full twelve-year lunar cycle in the 500g silver format, a series that began in 1996. Demand for the larger lunar pieces had grown steadily enough by the mid-2000s that mintages on subsequent cycles were revised upward significantly — the first-cycle coins now carry a premium the original buyers rarely anticipated.
