| 正面描述 | The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted as a right-facing diademed and draped bust with naturalistic detail in the hair and crown. The engraver's initials 'IRB' appear truncated at the neck. The legend 'ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA' arcs around the upper field, while the denomination '15 DOLLARS' is inscribed along the lower arc. A border of evenly spaced raised dots frames the entire design. |

The Lillypilly series drew from Australia's native rainforest flora at a moment when the Royal Australian Mint was aggressively expanding its bullion and proof platinum program. The small leaf lilly pilly — Syzygium luehmannii — is endemic to coastal Queensland and northern New South Wales, a deliberate counterpoint to the eucalyptus-heavy iconography that had dominated Australian numismatic flora for decades.
Pad printing on platinum at this scale was technically demanding; the process allowed color application that conventional die striking cannot achieve, but adhesion consistency on .9995 fine platinum presented quality control challenges that limited mintage figures sharply.
