Obverse description The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, faces right wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. The legend 'ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 15 DOLLARS' arcs around the upper periphery, with the engraver's initials 'IRB' appearing below the portrait truncation. The design is rendered in high-relief proof finish characteristic of Perth Mint commemorative issues.

Additional information

The Brolga series from Perth Mint occupied a quiet corner of Australia's platinum bullion program in the late 2000s, a period when the mint was aggressively expanding its collector-proof offerings across multiple metals simultaneously. The 1/10 oz denomination in platinum was primarily targeting the Asian collector market, where fractional platinum proofs in wildlife themes were finding consistent demand.

Ian Rank-Broadley's fourth-portrait effigy, introduced in 1998, appears here in its final decade before Jody Clark's replacement was adopted in 2015.
