15 Céntimos Terrassa

Terrassa's wartime municipal small change issues were a direct consequence of the Republican government's chronic coin shortage after 1936 — silver and copper had effectively disappeared from circulation, hoarded or melted, forcing hundreds of Catalan municipalities to print their own fractional paper. The Consell Municipal de Terrassa was among the more prolific local issuers, producing multiple denominations across the conflict years.

Printed locally by Arts Gràfiques E. Garriga, this note never left Terrassa in any meaningful sense. Municipal emergency currency of this type was invalidated and largely destroyed at the war's end, which is why intact survivors turn up almost exclusively in collector hands rather than from old wallets.
