15 Centimos Manresa; Solidaridad Obrera

Solidaridad Obrera — the anarcho-syndicalist newspaper and labor federation aligned with the CNT — issued fractional emergency currency in Manresa during the Civil War period when the Republican zone suffered an acute shortage of small-denomination coinage. These local vales were produced by municipalities, cooperatives, trade unions, and political organizations across Catalonia from 1936 onward, filling a vacuum the central Republican government was slow to address. The Manresa issues are among the more obscure provincial emissions, with survival rates difficult to assess precisely because wartime recordkeeping by issuing bodies like this one was, predictably, inconsistent.
