Reverse description Facing view of the iconic Boeotian shield of Ajax, depicted in relief with the characteristic lateral cutouts clearly defined by concentric border lines. Centrally placed within the shield is a sword in its sheath, serving as the emblem of the Salaminian hero Ajax. The Greek legend ΣΑΛΑ is distributed around the shield in the field, reading partially to the left and right. The composition is bold and heraldic, typical of Cypriot civic bronze coinage of the 4th century BC.
