Reverse description A small bunch of grapes occupies the central field, serving as the principal type emblematic of the Dionysiac iconographic programme. The Greek legend, arranged in multiple lines surrounding the central motif, identifies the city and its autonomous status. The overall composition is characteristic of autonomous civic bronze issues from Erythrai in the Hellenistic period.
