Obverse description Lion head in right profile, boldly rendered in high relief, with flowing mane depicted in deeply incised, stylized locks radiating around the neck and cheeks. The open jaw and alert eye convey a fierce, naturalistic expression characteristic of Hellenistic civic bronze coinage. The design fills the flan with little remaining field visible.
