Zusätzliche Informationen

Laos has no coastline. The "Goddess of the Sea" theming on this issue is borrowed iconography with no meaningful connection to Lao culture or geography — the country is one of only two landlocked nations in Southeast Asia. These silver commemoratives were produced almost entirely for the collector export market, a common revenue strategy among smaller issuing authorities in the 2000s, with the Bank of the Lao PDR licensing designs through European minting intermediaries rather than striking them domestically.
