背面描述	The reverse presents a finely engraved bust of Sultan Mehmed II (Fatih Sultan Mehmet), depicted in three-quarter left-facing profile, wearing a large turban and draped robes, set within an elaborately detailed Ottoman-style arched niche with ornamental columns and a decorated base panel. Three small crown devices flank the arch at upper left and right, referencing the sultan's imperial titles. The curved legend 'FATİH SULTAN MEHMET' arcs along the upper border, while the life dates '1432-1481' appear along the lower periphery in spaced numerals against a mirrored proof field.

附加信息	Issued to mark the 550th anniversary of Mehmed II's conquest of Constantinople in 1453, this coin appeared at a moment when Turkey's currency had been so badly eroded by decades of inflation that the face value — 15 million lira — was barely worth ten US dollars. The denomination itself is almost a historical footnote: within a year, Turkey redenominated, lopping six zeros off the lira and introducing the New Turkish Lira in January 2005.
