Reverse description Plain incuse square punch with a recessed, roughly quadrilateral depression occupying the center of the reverse, typical of the primitive monetary technique used on early archaic Greek silver fractions. The incuse is deeply struck with a slightly irregular outline, the result of hand-hammering, and is devoid of any subsidiary design or inscription. The surrounding field retains the natural contour of the flan, consistent with contemporary small silver coinage of the Lesbian cities circa 525–475 BC.
