Obverse description Head of a tunny fish rendered in low relief, facing left with jaws open, depicted in a highly stylized archaic manner characteristic of early Kyzikene coinage. The eye is rendered as a prominent raised pellet. The body is delineated by bold incised lines suggesting the lateral line and gill structure of the fish. The design occupies the full flan in a compact, schematic composition typical of the earliest electrum fractions from the Propontis region.
