Obverse description Head of a seal (phoke) depicted in left profile, rendered in archaic Greek style with characteristic schematic detailing of the eye, snout, and body contours. The design is boldly struck in high relief against an irregular flan, with the naturalistic form of the animal filling the available field. The seal's head and flipper are discernible, consistent with the civic badge of Phokaia. No legend or inscription is present, as is typical of early electrum coinage from this mint.
